Does The Bible Really Say Gay People Go To Hell?
“My brother hates God because God made him gay, and he knows he is going to hell, and I do, too, for that is what the Bible says.” When Louise made this comment to Bruce W. Lowe, it propelled him on a journey of faith that would culminate in a powerful document affirming a place in this world, and the church, for homosexuals. In 2002, Lowe presented a “Letter to Louise,” a 38-page treatise with contents life-affirming and comforting to many and shocking and disturbing to others.
“Can this really be true?” Louise asked Lowe after reading the letter complete with appendices, footnotes and plenty of Biblical citations. Through much prayer, hard work and research, and after reading over forty books by sociologists, psychologists and theologians, Lowe’s answer to her question is a resounding, confident “Yes.”
This letter, available at www.GodMadeMeGay.com, establishes 10 key points. Two of these include the following:
* Being gay is an unchangeable nature, not a lifestyle choice;
* Although several Bible passages speak of same-gender sex, they do not refer to gay individuals as we understand it today;
Bruce's study showed that he and others had been reading into the Bible what they presumed it ought to say instead of reading out of it what it actually did say. How about you? How has your understanding of the Bible changed? Do you agree with Bruce in concluding that the Bible actually affirms gay?
No, Only One Thing Sends People to Hell
If there were only one cure for a deadly disease, nothing else would work. Similarly, if God had one cure for what separates us from God, nothing else would work. Here's a quick theological application.
According the Scripture, our separation from God is the source of the human predicament, i.e. we live in a world of sickness, sorrow, evil, pain, genetic deformity, and death.
The Scriptures call the symptoms of this separation "sin" and offers only one remedy for it: Christ. Therefore, whether homosexual or heterosexual, rejecting God's only Remedy is what keeps people separated from God. The biblical term for that is "hell".

Pastor Bruce Lowe wrote a letter that is misleading and inaccurate. Individuals who teach hate whether gender, race or for any reason is wrong and is contradicting Christ. But sin has nothing to do with our physical attributes and very little to do with our physical actions. Homosexuals have sex and so do I, however according to the bible as a husband I am within my spiritual right to do so with my wife. Homosexuality is not wrong because conservatives or humans say is but because God say it is. God does not say he hate homosexuals I gree, but he does repeatedly say he homosexual acts, which or in contradiction to His will and His way.
I will never be negative or derogatory to a homosexual, gay or lesbian, but I will never confuse anyone by saying God is ok with their sin. He is not okay with, lying, adultery, fornication, gossiping, murder, violence or homesexuality. The bible is clear about all of these sins, we should love everybody and encourage everybody to live according to His will and not our own.
