In celebration of National Coming Out Day 2001, NCOP-DFW hosted its annual event at the State Fair of Texas®, known as "Gay Day at the State Fair" with emcee Chris Jagger of The EDGE (KDGE 102.1FM) Morning Team. This celebration provides a powerful format for the GLBT community, friends, family and supporters to show solidarity by being OUT at this highly visible venue.

Peter Paige of Queer as Folk was the guest speaker at the event. Paige is one of two openly gay actors on QAF and portrays Emmett Honeycutt...whose flame burns bright!

Both Peter Paige and Chris Jagger are national personalities whose commitment to the National Coming Out Day is evidenced by their daily dialogue on being and out and proud.
